Opening the Gradebook
Click Gradebook in the sidebar or the management window. The gradebook is organized into tabs by semester, then by class within each semester.
Grade grid
Each row is a student. Each column is a competency. Grade cells show the current best grade. Columns for Projected Grade and Lock-in (C / B / A week numbers) appear at the right edge.
Click any grade cell to open a quick-edit picker. The edit is recorded as a manual grade entry — highest-wins applies, so you can only upgrade a grade via this path.
Row selection
Click any student name to select that row. The entire row highlights blue and an action bar appears:
- 📧 Email Grades — sends this student their full grade standing email immediately
- 👁 Show on Student Screen — pushes their grades to the Student Screen
- ✕ Clear Selection — removes the highlight and hides the action bar
Lock-in columns
Three sub-columns (C, B, A) each show the week number when that grade was locked in. Empty means not yet achieved. After bulk imports, run 🔒 Recheck Locks from the management window top bar to backfill any missing locks.
Projected grade
The Projected Grade column runs the class's threshold rules against the student's current
grades. Every Core competency counts; for Electives only the best N count, where
N is required_electives in the rule (default 2). Rules are checked in sort
order and the highest passing grade wins. A class with no thresholds configured shows
?.
Anything in the gradebook that is not Mastery, Approaching or Proficient is treated as Incomplete when projecting — a defensive guard against a Quiz Level grade being force-written into the gradebook.
